Support the Palmhouse

Sefton Park Palm House is a Grade 2* listed glasshouse. Built in 1896, it is essentially a very large Victorian glasshouse which is host to the Liverpool International Plant Collection. Beautiful in its grand architecture, it is now an iconic tourist attraction set in the very heart of Sefton Park in South Liverpool. The Palm House has only recently been restored to its former glory, reopening in 2001 after years of neglect. Whilst the building is owned by Liverpool City Council it is operated and run by the Sefton Park Palm House Preservation Trust. As a registered charity the Trust has to generate all its own income to enable the Palm House to be a valuable resource for the local community. Open to the public 7 days a week we regularly host community events with access for all, including free Sunday concerts and children’s educational activities in the summer and half term breaks. We welcome over 100,000 visitors every year and to finance all this we also hire out the building for evening events. An average of 65 weddings a year are held at the Palm House and we continue to develop our relationships with the happy couples long after their big day.
