Being Human Exhibition

Celebrate the 150th anniversary of Liverpool-based poet Edward Lear’s ‘Nonsense Botany’ with an exhibition and children’s activities at the Palm House. Explore Lear’s peculiar plants and funny flowers. Discover the science of plant names and the history and geography of plant collecting that shaped spectacular collections such as Sefton Park’s. Families can book to attend our 3.45 pm after-school session aimed at children aged 7-9, including a drama performance about Lear’s life by ArtsGroupie, a botanical treasure hunt, creating a fantastical nonsense tree with artist Nghia Ton, and gardening in the grounds.
