Birdcage Workshop – Creating Glass Light Catchers

We will be joined by artist Cait Walker to share her artistic knowledge as part of our winter Birdcage Exhibition Programme. 

In this workshop you will make fused glass hangings inspired by the shapes and patterns formed by the plants in the Palm House. After creating our design, using collage and drawing, we will use glass pens to draw directly onto the clear glass, then decorate with crushed glass frit and coloured sheet glass to make colourful light catchers. These will be kiln fired after the class and returned so they can be displayed. 

No prior skills are needed, just a willingness to experiment!
