Black History Month Exhibition

Introducing three exhibits to be displayed at the Palm House. A programme to celebrate Black History Month.

Back to the Future Music Exhibition

Black to the Future music exhibition uncovers the hidden history of black music, entertainers and performance, as far back as the 1840’s to the present day. A story you won’t find in the pages of history and popular culture. It links very early music hall, the great jazz musicians, Liverpool’s very own black musicians, the clubs of Liverpool 8 and the diversity of music being made and performed in Liverpool.

The exhibition was first shown at Liverpool Central Library in the Autumn of 2017.

Black Punch Boxing Exhibition

Black Punch boxing exhibition chronicles the journey of the untold story of boxers of African descent who fought out of Liverpool over the past 180 years. A procession of champions, medal holders, serious contenders and those on whose shoulders they stood. A total of 30 world titles and 20 British, Commonwealth and European championships. The Heritage Development Company Liverpool is proud in bringing to your notice the outstanding contribution made by black boxing athletes to Liverpool’s sporting legacy.

The exhibition was first shown at Liverpool Central Library Winter 2019.

Both exhibitions supplied by the Heritage development Company Liverpool
