A series of photos Taken at Sedgemoor Dementia Support Hub

This project began almost a year ago. Alan Jones had been asked by AXA (sponsors of LFC and the Alzheimer’s Society) to photograph, Fran. She had been diagnosed with early onset dementia and had been invited to Anfield for the day as a lifelong Liverpool fan. Alan admits his knowledge of dementia was limited at the beginning of the project and talking with Fran he wondered about how people living with dementia saw themselves. Fran arranged for him to visit Sedgemoor. Since May 2023 he has attended Sedgemoor every week! Refraining from capturing any photographs until he felt accepted by the group, this took about four weeks. His approach was to try and make the creation of the images a joint enterprise and the results will be on display at the Palm House during Dementia Action Week.
