Looking Black to the Future

‘Looking Black to the Future’ Out of the ashes of the 81 Uprisings, there was a determination to build a strong community led structure of local organisations, break down local apathy and directly challenge racism. More than twenty such organisations were established, including, Charles Wootten Centre, Liverpool 8 Law Centre, Steve Biko Housing Association, Merseyside Immigration & Advice Unit, World Promotions, Liverpool Black sisters and many more. A panel of Black Activists, who played significant roles in their development, will be discussing their impact and legacy. The panel: Maria O’Reilly, Louis Julienne, Linda Freeman, Albert Fontenot, Lind Loy and Ray Quarless.
