Yemeni Community Celebration

Earlier this year, BLaST (Black Led Social Traders), in partnership with the Merseyside Yemeni Association and Kuumba Imani, came together to create the Yemeni Community Festival of Ideas. What began as an opportunity to celebrate business, entrpreneurhsip and innovation withing Liverpool’s Yemeni Community quickly grew into something much bigger.

Across four drop-in sessions, members of the Yemeni community and the wider community came together to share food, stories, ambitions and ideas. The sessions created space for people to connect, learn from one another and explore new possibilities. From business ventures and creative projects to community initiatives, the conversations sparked exciting opportunities and lasting relationships. Some participants received development awards to help take their ideas further, while others have continued to stay connected and develop projects together long after the sessions ended.

This celebration event is about recognising those achievements and celebrating the power of community. It is free to attend, and everyone is welcome.

Expect delicious Yemeni dishes alongside other global cuisine, art displays, cultural learning and a warm community atmosphere. Throughout the day there will be a wide variety of activities, opportunities to connect with others and moments to celebrate the creativity, culture and talent that emerged from the Festival of Ideas.

We can’t wait to welcome you for a day of food, culture, inspiration and community.
