Learning

This is the Learning toolkit for exploring the Palm House. We have developed this with teachers, adults and group leaders in mind to be used to support educational visits at the Palm House.
It contains information, ideas and resources. These can inspire connection and support the learning journey.  We co-created this toolkit through consultation with teachers, home educators, learners of all ages and the Palm House team.  We imagined and created resources to inspire learning and a sense of belonging here for everyone.
At the Palm House, learning is layered with sensory exploration. Our space supports wellbeing and nature connection. We are able to provide visitors with unique and immersive experiences surrounded by living plants. The indoor and outdoor spaces are filled with abundant plant life.  Many of the plants growing in the Palm House aren’t typically found growing in Liverpool. The plants represent some of what grows in parts of Africa,  Asia,  Australasia and the Mediterranean. Our diverse plant life grows here in the wider setting of Sefton Park and the flora and fauna it contains. Learners are able to connect to these plants and see how they change over time. This toolkit shares ways into connection and learning as a guide for educators and group leaders, along with resources for learners and ideas for exploring together. We welcome you to utilise it and shape it to best meet the needs of your learners. You are welcome to explore this toolkit before, during and after your visit.
